A Weekend in Paris, Part Deux

So we woke up far too early for breakfast that was scheduled in at 9am. I kid you not, we had an itinerary of sites to see so I could see as much of Paris as possible.

After breakfast at Claus (not the best, but the cakes were lovely) we headed straight off to the Louvre.

The temperatures for a late September Saturday suddenly and unexpectedly turned tropical as  we mooched over to the beautiful Tuileries gardens nearby.

I'm wearing a vest and skirt both from Cos, shades Rayban.

What an incredible beautiful city Paris is!! Every building, no matter what it is, how unimportant or monotonous, is the most intricate of buildings.

We then headed to a market to have a browse but unfortunately it was closing. So what to do instead? Go eat oysters of course!

Super delicious and fresh oysters along with a glass of wine for 10 euros. Perfect to whet the appetite!

We popped into a nearby wine shop and checked out the vintages on offer.

Lunch time came around and we headed to a little place called Will.

We took the taster of starters...

And then had the best sweetbreads I've ever had!! Beeeautiful dish.

He had seared tuna along with a cucumber salad.

And the perfect finish with a chocolate torte with some interesting and delicious sesame seed ice cream!!

And figs with yoghurt and sorbet.

Next on my list to see was Montmartre, a beautiful little part of Paris that's unlike the busy streets of Paris.

It's all old with cobbled streets that eventually lead to the beautiful and imposing Sacre Coeur.

It's free to enter and sort of has this revolving door policy where people continuously move in and around the church and then back out again, so there's no queueing.

It's up high on a hill, so turn around you get a view out over all of Paris.

We walked a little more and on to Pigalle, traditionally the red light district in Paris but now becoming cool and less seedy. A bit like Soho or Shoreditch a few years back.

Though the influence is definitely still there!!
