A Weekend in Paris, Part Trois

Saturday was a very very long day. After seeing Dirty Dicks (a bar, people!) in Pigalle, we just walked around the areas and explored for a bit, taking in all the beauty of street corner here and a building there.

We ended up wandering towards Notre Dame. I told you we packed in as much as possible (the itinerary did come in handy).

This imposing, gothic and grey cathedral isn't as beautiful as the Sacre Coeur but still worth seeing. I think Disney built my hopes up to be honest. No talking goblins or Quasimodo.

We didn't go in as the queue was about a mile long but if you're there on a weekday I'm sure it would be less busy.

All this walking meant it was time for more food. This time to what's considered the best ice cream in Paris, at Berthillon.

We feasted on praline amaretto, caramel nougatine and coffee.

It definitely lived up to the hype.

The clouds started to come over and the temperature defintely dropped.

Ok. So. I'm going to let out this secret. Being in Paris...with my boyfriend.....we had to ok? We HAD TO. Don't judge me. It was actually cute :)

Try and find ours!

The rain clouds came over and the heavens opened.

We headed home and I was ready for bed. But we had plans.

We headed to Le Dauphin, next to and ran by the same people as Le Chateaubriand which is consistently voted one of the best restaruants in the world. However, I've heard mixed reviews about Le Chauteaubriand and better things about Le Dauphin, a sharing plates restaurant. We went at 10pm and got a table no problem.

It was super cute, we sat around a bar, doors thrown wide open.

Saucisson.

Smoked veal tartare with radish, cucumber and samphire.

Cuttlefish, fennel.

Iberico and qunioa.

Fig risotto.

Cod, grapes, haricot butter, ajo blanco.

Olive oil ice cream.

And then we danced the night away…

On Sunday, tired didn't even cover it. I slept all the way home on the Eurostar.
